FedERATION
I was given a postcard with stained glass designs by Frank Lloyd Wright, not being a stained-glass fan, I put it aside on my desk. Over time It would reappear out of the mess, and I would take another look at it. After several looks and months, I started to like the design, but I would like to simplify it and get rid of the lead.
The main body of the lamp and the strips between the glass are one, as I said I wanted to delete the use of lead as it's not my thing. I chose a handmade glass that I think was in keeping with the period as Frank’s designs dated back to 1915, I wanted a sharpness about it with a classic touch.
Here in Australia, we have a style of housing dating from around 1901, the Federation of Australia. They had a style that used a lot of stained-glass windows, and this lamp takes you to that period but with a very modern edge to it that pops.
This is the wall version of the Federation floor lamp, It does have a defuser to give an even light source. Being a wall lamp, you will not get the see-through look that the floor lamp gets.
